Just walk/run in clockwise circles and it'll even out.

The red button on the remote? Tap that. Then go find a book.

Sadly no. I’m fighting off a cold and it doesn’t even sound appealing.

Yeah. The F1 race was fantastic and Indy was meh and this is just me being too exhausted to move.

I was going to suggest what I’m watching instead but Peppa Pig just ended.

Hah. I actually started a book last week and that’s part of the problem. The book itself is not great but I do want to know the basic plot. I’ve been fighting a mental  battle of suffering through the writing or googling the ending.

If you have Motortrend on demand, you can watch old Top Gear instead. They finally dropped there. I’m watching the US Roadtrip special.

(as a native Alabamian, even I don’t watch NASCAR)

I do, and I should. I think I really just want more racing news that isn’t going to be quick and I’m too blah to switch my attention. Stuff like the full analysis of why the Mclarens blew up, a more informative update on how Juan Manuel Correa is doing, a press release on where Conor Daly has supposedly signed for next season...news that will not be published today. Top Gear would be a good distraction.

Never seen that one. Sounds like I should avoid it.

Peppa Pig isn’t bad at all. I kinda like it.

I’ve seen some live races at Richmond and they’re entertaining enough. This isn’t.

Just imagine the most obnoxious kid you’ve ever been stuck on a plane with, teaching that behavior to your own child.

I’d like to people watch Daytona and Talladega, but that’s about it. I respect it, but I don’t find it very entertaining.

I suspect (for me) it’s a bit because I need to feel some personal attachment to a driver (or drivers) and NASCAR puts a lot of energy into making these guys completely unappealing to me. And I’m sure that comes across as a bit classist. A  few of them seem like totally likeable people on their own social media but I just can’t get into the series.

The Blind Assassin. My mom left it here and it was in my bag on my last flight.

Maybe I’ll read an hour or so more and see if it gets less tedious, and if not I’ll look up the point of it :)

What did you think of the Portland race today? I thought it was probably the worst IndyCar race of the year. Horrible driving at the start by dri vers who should know better. Boring end.

Agreed. Although it might have been more tolerable if the end of the F1 race hadn’t been utterly insane.

I think part of the issue was the broadcast coverage too. I know there wasn’t a ton going on but it seemed like everything that did happen wasn’t caught live. Is there no one able to predict passing based on timing data? Or are they just too afraid to show any action live in case of crashing?

Try The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie. It is anything but tedious to read.

I also absolutely could not put down Cry Pilot by Joel Dane.

And if you enjoy Star Wars the Star Wars: Ahsoka novel is excellent. It is obviously written with a YA audience in mind, so it reads quickly.

Also Star Wars is the Alphabet Squadron series (of which the first of out now) which is a bit more of a meal to read. It is building up to something so there is a huge amount of character-building so the book tends to skip around plot wise then weave various threads together later.

That constitutes the bulk of my recent reading activity.

Are you OK? Are you experiencing any romantic feelings towards your cousin? Do you have a sudden urge to buy a Camaro? Are you going to name your kids Hunter, Dale and Brandy?

Please stop while you still can . Three hours of rally videos on YouTube should get you out of this.

I don't think they're afraid. It's not like they're doing 220 at Portland. And as much as nobody wants to see anybody get hurt/killed, they damn sure want to get any crashes on camera.
